White Knight Chronicles: The Biggest PS3 Exclusive that Nobody is Talking About

Much is made of the oft hyped and upcoming juggernaut’s that are Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Little Big Planet and to a lesser extent Killzone 2. All have huge hype surrounding them, and they are all exclusive to the PS3. However, lost in the crowd seems to be Level 5’s latest title White Knight Chronicles.
White Knight Chronicles is an RPG that follows the story of Lenard, a boy that finds an ancient artifact that allows him to transform into a 7 meter tall White Knight. Though details of the story are still being closely guarded by Level 5, as reported by Famitsu the game will run at about 50 to 60 hours to complete. Whether that is just the main story or takes into account side quests remains to be seen.
Enough talk though. I think this game is going to deliver for RPG fans in a major way when it releases in late 2008.

is it a free fighting style or a take a turn kind of approach. I prefer the latter.
*shakes head* It looks like every other FF game that was based in 3D and I’m cool with that but for heavens sake, stop copying! If I have to watch that cut scene every time I want to transform into a white knight then I will be pissed, Im sick of cut scenes, at least give us the option to skip them, fast forwar AND rewind and get on with it.
The lead character looks pathetic, who wants to play as that chump? You create this giant beast and yet it does nothing? except roar!!! good one guys.
Take turn style sux
If that game doesn’t excite you as an RPG fan than nothing coming out this year will.

It is a shame that the XTARDS are posting crap here and why not after Playing FLOP DRAGON and FLOP ODYSSEY on 4 DVD discs on inferior XBREAK 3 FIX ME they can only resort to trash talk since there is nothing on X360 in 2008 and beyond
The main character is customizable, which I think is really great. There’s an extensive system where you can change his facial features and hair… Amazing how they did it and his face still shows up in the cutscenes and main game. The combat is not take turn style, but It’s not exactly completely free either… There’s videos on it elsewhere.
Killzone 2 is hyped just as much as some of those other games. There just hasn’t been much video released for it. It got the most hype from E3 2007 don’t forget.
This looks kinda weak. In this day and age w/ advanced graphics the anime thing is just an eye sore. That being said this game looks like it will be just as mediocre as lost odyssey. Looks like well just have to wait for FF to come out for a decent next gen RPG.
This game is developped by Level 5, they already made : Dark Chronicle, Dragon Quest VIII and Rogue Galaxy which are, in my opinion, among the best RPG of the PS2. They made also Jeanne d’Arc on PSP, and Professor Layton and the Strange City on DS. To sum up, almost all of their games are great. So, I really doubt this one will sucks.
Umm.. Lost Odyssey was not a flop… also there are plenty of good games coming out on the XBREAK as you call it. Your just too much of a Sony Loving Fan Boy that you are incapable of seeing what is good and what isnt… I mean oh wow PS3 gets what Metal Gear Solid and FFXIII. I better hold on to my breaches because that is a show stopper! lol, fanboyism is pathetic.
P.S. I own on 3 systems and enjoy each in their own special way. But I have to say I use my PS3 way more for blu-ray than for gaming.
Personally, i found the combat system a bit lacking. I mean, making it real time combat, brings lots of problems. they have to much action games combat system in order for it to work.
and frankly, at the moment, the combat looks extremely clunky and unimpressive. slow attacks, no realistic impact, bad movements.
if they manage to fix this, then the game is on my must buy list. if not, oh well, there are many more rpgs on the way.

The “anime thing” is a sore eye? Come off it. It’s not your cup of tea – fine. However, there are millions upon millions of people who happen to disagree with you. RPGs would not be where they are today without anime influences (and vice-versa). Whether you like it or not, certain games will continue to use that style and I don’t see any end to it in the near future.
Also, some people here need to stop beating a dead horse. Quit the lame PS3/360 bashing.
Level-5 is one of the most impressive developers out there, and I have faith that they will deliver a quality product. Don’t believe me? Check their credentials.
Anybody else notice how similar the music in the 3rd is to Crono’s theme? I noticed it more prominently after about 1:24

Wow I don’t get it this is the biggest game ever and no ones excited about it……………, All I know is that Iam getting it for sure
The game is going to be released in 2009 so its a work in progress, the fighting system will improve greatly and new moves will be added to the character.
this game probably hasn’t received much hype seeing how nobody knows about it. The game has potential to be a great success, but it could just as easily flop out. From the videos it seems like your playing power rangers =\ I’m not sure everybody wants to go around going ‘we need megazord power now’ lol i mean transforming is cool but when you have to get bigger because of it, it tends to make the game worse off …
